We carry a range of over 200 different cut herbs, and are increasing our Certified Organic range in response to practitioner demand. We purchase as many of our herbs as possible from small suppliers with whom we have worked over the years. We are increasing our purchasing from small-scale growers and have a programme of small scale cultivation on our own land and on land local to us in North Yorkshire.
Following the creation of the Medicinal Plant Sustainability Forum we have been implementing the recommendations of the first report, Herbal Harvest With a Future (click here to find it).
This includes establishing partnerships with growers and drawing up long term contracts – giving them a guaranteed market and giving us closer control over quality, price, and volume. These include partnership with growers in UK, in Republic of Ireland, Serbia and South and East Africa.
