Lycium barbarum, commonly called Chinese wolfberry, Chinese boxthorn, Himalayan goji, Tibetan goji, or matrimony vine, is a tree native to south-eastern Europe and Asia. It is one of two species of boxthorn in the family Solanaceae from which the goji berry or wolfberry is harvested, the other being Lycium chinense.
Lycium barbarum is a deciduous woody perennial plant, growing 1–3 m high. The tree is an important commercial crop in northern China, especially in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
