Organic Tincture made by a process of hydro-ethanolic percolation, with a ratio of 1 part Organic Shatavari to 3 parts liquid. Liquid comprises of 75% water and 25% Organic sugar beet derived ethanol.
Asparagus racemosus (satavar, shatavari, or shatamull) is a species of asparagus common throughout Nepal, Sri Lanka, India and the Himalayas. It grows 1–2 m tall and prefers to take root in gravelly, rocky soils high up in piedmont plains.
Due to destructive harvesting, combined with habitat destruction, and deforestation, the plant is now considered “endangered” in its natural habitat.
Shatavari is a climbing plant which grows in low jungles areas throughout India. This sweet and bitter herb is particularly balancing to Pitta Dosha.
Medicinal Action and Uses
Anti-Inflammatory – Racemofuran, which is found in shatavari, also has significant anti-inflammatory capabilities. It has the ability to reduce inflammation without serious digestive side effects.
Antioxidant – Shatavari is high in saponins. Saponins are compounds with antioxidant abilities.
Diuretic – shatavari is used as a diuretic in ayurveda. It is used to treat urinary-tract infections, as well as kidney and bladder stones. Especially when arising from congestion around the heart.
Female Reproductive Health – Shatavari strengthens and supports the female reproductive system and natural cycles. It can be used for sexual debility , poor reproductive system, low female libido. It can also be used to treat painful and/or irregular menstruation and ovarian cysts.
Galactagogue – Shatavari is a popular herb to naturally improve breast milk production. It works naturally without causing side effects to mother and baby.
