Description

Organic Tincture made by a process of hydro-ethanolic percolation, with a ratio of 1 part Organic Raspberry Leaf to 3 parts liquid. Liquid comprises of 75% water and 25% Organic sugar beet derived ethanol.

Rubus idaeus (raspberry, also called red raspberry or occasionally as European raspberry to distinguish it from other raspberries) is a red-fruited species of Rubus native to Europe and northern Asia and commonly cultivated in other temperate regions.

Raspberry is a member of the rose family (Rosaceae). It is a 1 to 2 meters high half shrub with both annual and biennial shoots.

In herbal medicine, it is primarily the leaves that are used. The berries are mostly used for culinary purposes but have also their uses as a medicinal herb.

Medicinal Action and Uses

Astringent - The traditional use of raspberry medicinal herb tea is as a female tonic to alleviate menstrual cramps and discomfort. Astringent properties stop excessive bleeding and calm cramps during heavy periods.

Incontinence - Raspberries have been used to strengthen the kidneys and as a treatment for incontinence.

Parturient - Raspberry leaf tea is a safe, nutritive, uterine tonic. It is generally recommended for use during the entire nine months of pregnancy and can be taken in the last stages of pregnancy to facilitate childbirth.

Skin Complaints - extracts from the leaves have been used externally for ulceration and inflammation of the mouth and throat, for tonsillitis, sore throat, varicose veins, burns and slow healing wounds.

Stomachic - Raspberry leaves are commonly used to treat diarrhoea and stomach complaints.
